It is one of the most famous Greek cheeses. It is manufactured from ewe’s milk or mixtures with goat’s milk that comes exclusively from the municipalities of Chania, Rethymnon and Lassithi. Its sweetish characteristic taste is released better when consumed in room temperature. It accompanies wine and raki perfectly.It is also accompanied with rusks, breadsticks and honey as a dessert. It is available in head cheese of one, three, ten and twelve kilos but also in packages of about 400gr.
